Construite en 1905, cette r\u00e9sidence de deux \u00e9tages et demi \u00e9tait la maison familiale de Gabrielle Roy. Elle y a habit\u00e9 de sa naissance en 1909 \u00e0 son d\u00e9part pour l\u2019Europe en 1937. Cette maison a \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e9voqu\u00e9e dans plusieurs de ses \u0153uvres, en particulier dans &#8220;Rue Deschambault&#8221; une suite de r\u00e9cits inspir\u00e9s de la jeunesse de l\u2019auteure \u00e0 Saint-Boniface. Gabrielle aimait se retirer pour lire et r\u00eaver derri\u00e8re la lucarne, \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9tage sup\u00e9rieur. Enti\u00e8rement restaur\u00e9e, la maison est aujourd\u2019hui un mus\u00e9e public.<\/p>\n<p>La boutique &#8216;Au bonheur d&#8217;occasion&#8217; poss\u00e8de toute une vari\u00e9t\u00e9 d&#8217;articles en vente, y compris des ouvrages neufs et usag\u00e9s de l&#8217;auteure Gabrielle Roy, des livres au sujet de Gabrielle Roy ou de ses oeuvres, ainsi que d&#8217;autres souvenirs.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The home of Gabrielle Roy is a very important and recurring symbol in the Franco-Canadian author&#8217;s work. She lived there from her birth in 1909 to her departure for Europe in 1937. This house has been mentioned in many of her works, particularly in &#8220;Street of Riches&#8221; a series of stories inspired by the author&#8217;s childhood in St. Boniface.
